plus support - PETE CHRISTIE (UK)
Matt has just finished his second successful UK Tour along with airplay on the BBC and opening dates for Mississippi Delta Blues Icon “HoneyBoy” Edwards. Matt’s hectic touring schedule includes over 200 live dates a year that encompass North America and the rest of the world. Matt’s new release “Something In-Between”slated for July 2008 is on Canada’s Busted Flat Records (Distribution – Sonic Unyon/Universal) and is one the most anticipated original studio releases this year. Rock n Reel: “This is a serious collection. Matt demonstrates his considerable skills. He has a big voice, which can roar, bellow or be remarkably gentle, even managing to sound authentically black in some of his phrasing”. There is not one track that I won’t welcome hearing again”.
THE INDEPENDENT: “The big young blues player from New Brunswick couples larger-than-life showmanship with fantastic acoustic blues, roots & rock fretwork & soulful vocals. A big presence on the North American live circuit, he’s coming to Europe with a much-anticipated studio debut in the can”.
Pete Christie (UK) Singer-songwriter/acoustic fingerstyle guitarist currently based in Dorset (Isle of Purbeck) UK Pete Christie has been performing, writing and recording with an acoustic guitar since 1985, though prior to that he was in a three-piece, dynamic rock/ska band “the Skavengers”. They were popular and highly regarded, touring extensively and achieving regular airplay on the John Peel and Mike Reed shows on BBC Radio 1.

Matt AndersenWhen big Matt came to The Greys in November folks were agog with delight at the man's performance. One of the most powerful you could ever wish to see. His version of "Ain't No Sunshine" simply brought the house down. 30 stones of Canadian Redwood blues roots guitar with a voice that would shake a house down, New Brunswick's Matt Andersen has a larger than life showmanship that has been earning him a fervent and steadfast audience wherever he graces the stage.
In the past couple of years, Matt has released an introductory EP along with two critically-acclaimed live fans’ favorite’s and the full length release “Second time around”. Along with a very busy touring schedule as a headliner at major festivals, clubs and theatres throughout North America, Matt has also shared the stage and toured with America, Randy Bachman, the late Bo Diddley, Little Feat and a host of others. Quotes...... THE TIMES: “MATT ANDERSEN "Canada's greatest guitarist made one acoustic guitar sound like a fully staffed band. Outrageous skill and contagious joy".

Publishing/songwriting/solo recording contracts followed in the eighties, plus Pete worked as a recording session’s singer and worked with (legendary manager/producer) Chas Chandler, who told him once that Jimi Hendrix always had a guitar with him, even in the loo. Pete doesn’t take it to that extreme, but he will play as much as he can.
The way he explores rhythm and the dynamics of the instrument is a real education. His use of the loop station, and a few subtle dabs on his effects pedals, layering rhythms and sounds, is mesmerising.
