BLAIR DUNLOP with ASHLEY HUTCHINGS

and ROSIE BROWN (UK)

Rosie Brown

Singer-songwriter Rosie Brown will be performing with her fabulous "inspired posse" of musicians, airing some gorgeous three-part vocal harmonies,
stunning guitar and bass work, and the quirkiest drums this side of anywhere. Expect dreamy arrangements of favourites from their three
acclaimed albums (By The Blue, 2001; Clocks and Clouds, 2004; Strange Recollection, 2009), and a smattering of delectable acoustic classics,
re-worked the Rosie Brown Band way.

"As fresh and enveloping as morning mist - and as disquietingly opaque - the music of Rosie Brown weaves a wondrous spell... She is partnered by producer and co-writer Bernd Rest, whose neat guitar parts (along with Simon Russell's double bass, and the general air of trippiness) recall vintage John Martyn... Uniquely affecting sounds which unsettle as they seduce."

"A beautifully expressive, iceberg-melting voice that twists and turns artfully all over the songs."

³Elemental, sensual... Conjures something evocative of Les Paul backed by Goldfrapp.²

³Superior musical minds following their hearts.²

"What a pleasure to be surrounded by music made by such sympathetic people."

Blair Dunlop and Ashley Hutchings

As the son of folk legend Ashley Hutchings and singer Judy Dunlop he has been encouraged to take to the stage since a young age. He has now blossomed into a greatly admired singer, guitarist and actor. Some of the highlights of his performing career include playing Little Willy Wonka in the blockbuster movie of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (Johnny Depp starred as the grown-up Willy), touring for the whole of last Autumn in a new production of the play “Lark Rise” and appearing at festivals such as Big Session, Towersey and Cropredy Fringe.

At this gig Blair will be performing with his father, Ashley Hutchings - founder member of three of the most noteworthy English folk-rock bands in the history of the genre; Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band. For four years he worked at London's National Theatre with his Albion Band as music director of a number of ground-breaking plays with music, including the phenomenally popular “Lark Rise” and “Candleford”.

"This astonishing performer was the first act at Towersey 2010 and in simple terms he stole the show and got a lot of people talking. He is an immensely talented singer, hugely accomplished guitarist, with a stage presence that is far beyond his years."
Bob Templeman, organiser, Tudor Folk, Chesham.

“Beautiful guitar playing and vocal. A real emerging talent".
Chris Leslie (of Fairport Convention)

And the distinguished screen actor Sir Christopher Lee- “ I look forward to his Hamlet.”
